A Lull In A Day

Well Covid-19 has brought a big change in all of our lives, mostly for the worst, sadly. It has been different for everyone with varying repercussions and hardships in every case. In mine, apart from precautionary measures, restrictions and setbacks, it has given me a bit more time. The latter isn’t bad, as in this situation I can do what I yearn and love to do most, which is painting and designing.

So I took the opportunity to create something and ‘A Lull In A Day’ is one of the pieces I had going on and managed to finish. This piece is one of the lighter tasks in every sense, even by theme. At times especially like these, I use this kind of painting to ease my mind or tension. That’s not always the case by the way; they can be very intense in themselves at times. However, I don’t have many restrictions doing them as such and can wander with imagination, despite setting off with intention.

With this one, I wanted a lot of light, leisure, chic and ease on the eye, therefore easy on the mind. My way of considering this piece as an abstract, perhaps a semi- abstract, is because I did it through automation, but nothing formal, building it up gradually and shaping it as I went along. You may see the end result as you wish nonetheless. It is for you to perceive it as you like; I just hope it eases your mind at certain moments.

This mixed media artwork is painted on a thick gallery wrapped stretched canvas (380g/m_100% Cotton) measuring 50cm X 100cm X 4cm. It is also painted neatly right around the edges (additional images) including my customary pinstripe. Needless to say, a frame is not necessary to hang the painting upon the wall and this is with preference.
